What Is The EVO CAM HALO?
The EVO CAM HALO is a powerful digital microscope that combines a stunning 4K image with advanced and adaptive illumination. This helps to relay unmatched precision to your monitor, alongside having the versatility for both inspection and measurement tasks.
The HALO excels at capturing the finer details on reflective surfaces. This includes solder joints, which we know can be reflective and difficult to quality check.
Included is an Auto Lens ID which ensures the correct magnification is always displayed. By doing so, you get greater flexibility and adaptability for a wide range of inspection applications across numerous industries.

What Do Vision Say About The HALO?
We spoke to Carl, from Vision Engineering, asking him about the new features of the HALO.
“We see the HALO as being the next step in moving the EVO CAM family forward” says Carl.
“It is a new 4K camera system. The new features include automatic lens detection, so that when you plug in the lens, it will automatically calibrate the magnifications on screen.
“When you change the lighting options, things like the 360 viewer, which people might be familiar with, will be there. We also have UV and white lighting. When plugged in they will automatically detect.
“Plus we are going to have a roll out of new software features for measurement and markup and quick annotation.”
Key Features Of The EVO CAM HALO
Now that we have heard directly from Vision regarding how they see the HALO positioned in the market, let's break down some of the key new features.
Excellent Image Quality – The 4K image sensor captures up to four times more detail than that of the full HD cameras. A high dynamic range helps to preserve critical details in both the light and dark areas of an image.
Intelligent Features – A range of customisable lighting options that include UV, wide-area panel, quadrant controlled white light. Each are fitted directly to the camera and can be easily swapped in seconds.
The quick-clip ring light will automatically save and recall settings when you have it connected. This ensures perfect brightness and contrast in even the most challenging of subjects.
The HALO also includes an Auto Lens ID feature, which adjusts magnification settings automatically when paired with the new lens mount. This streamlines your workflow and guarantees an accurate inspection every time.
Measurement, Analytical & Reporting Capabilities – Gain real-time insights, making it simple to detect anomalies and patterns that would be otherwise missed.
Intuitive image capture, measurement and analytic tools and software deliver accurate and actionable results.
This ensures quicker and more data-driven decisions.
Stands Available
The HALO is compatible with a variety of stands. This includes:

Popular Applications For The EVO CAM HALO
Electronics & Coatings
When inspecting PCBs, components, solder masks, joints and more – you require a crisp and accurate image. The HALO provides sharp. Views of the highly reflective solder joints, help aid in the assessment for reflow quality and beyond. You can also easily inspect fluorescent coatings with the included white and UV ring light.
Medical Devices
Consistent inspection and clarity for the finer details of the subject, are essential to the manufacture of medical devices. Accurate display of lighting and magnification for subjects alongside limiting the zoom ranges to the defined level for inspection.
Micro-Mechanics
Precision engineering demands clear and detailed views, alongside the ability to verify specifications with complete confidence. Optimised illumination, alongside the ViPlus software, enables accurate and efficient reporting for both components and assembly lines.
In Summary
Hopefully, you are as excited as we are for the launch of the new EVO CAM HALO. Currently, the HALO is touted for a mid-April release, which we will be sure to advertise when it becomes available to purchase.
