My PA120/AM120 tweezers are not heating up, what should I do?

The AM120 & PA120 tweezers require each of the cartridges to be properly aligned and tightened. A small flat head screw locks in each cartridge (located on the body of the tweezer handpiece). If this is not properly tightened, the station will view it as an open circuit and subsequently provide no heat.

How can I extend the life of my JBC soldering cartridges?
To extend the life of your soldering cartridges there are several factors that must be taken into account. We recommend to not exceed a temperature of 370ºC. Our extensive research into JBC soldering tools show that 90% of solder joints perform optimally at 350ºC. Ensure that the force you apply to the soldering iron does not exceed its own weight.
Are there any simple tips for the desoldering process?
Our experts have put together some of the most helpful tips for desoldering. Click here and follow the instructions for a smooth desoldering experience!
How long is the warranty on JBC soldering equipment?

All the JBC equipment we sell comes with a 2-year warranty, guaranteeing your soldering units against all manufacturing defects. It will cover you for the replacement of defective parts and all necessary labour. The warranty will not cover product wear due to use or misuse.

To validate the warranty, equipment needs to be returned to Kaisertech with an enclosed note of the problems that you have discovered.

Only one cartridge on my tweezers has worn out, and the other tip works. Can I purchase these cartridges separately?

Yes, although two cartridges are needed for the tweezer handpieces to work, they can be purchased individually. You can find the tip that you require on our Replacement Soldering Tips page.

Why should I use JBC soldering equipment?

What is the recommended cleaning process for ESD clothing?
Great care must be taken at all times when washing your ESD garments. ESD clothing is made from carbon-suffused monofilament nylon. This is particularly sensitive to heat, alkaline/acidic solutions, softeners, and bleaches.
What risk does electrostatic discharge (ESD) pose to my business?

People are often unaware of the sheer harm that ESD can cause within a manufacturing environment. The circuitry in modern electronic equipment can suffer lasting and catastrophic damage through the transfer of static electricity.

There are 2 main kinds of risk that are posed from ESD damage, these are:

Complete Failure – The static charge will have created a fault that results in a complete failure of the equipment. This can be due to melting, oxide failure or a junction breakdown.

Delayed Failure – Partial degradation of the circuitry in your device can be caused through an ESD event. This can result in a latent defect which can impact the effectiveness of your equipment or cause your device to have a complete failure later down the line.

What is the difference between ESD and anti-static?
It is often a common misconception that these two mean the same thing. But they are not interchangeable, and products labelled as such have different properties that you must pay attention to.

ESD Furniture

How do ESD benches work?

ESD benches are a vital tool in ensuring your business maintains an effective EPA. Non insulating materials such as wood will not be effective in an electronic environment that needs to be ESD protected.

ESD benches are made with static dissipative materials that differentiate it from your standard wooden workbench. This material will ground the bench to the earth helping to dissipate any build up of static electricity that is generated by the operator. Your standard benches do not give the static anywhere to go, creating possible damage for sensitive components or even the user.

Are ESD chair castors suitable for hard floors?

We can provide special soft tyre castors that are better suited for use on hard floors. They look very similar to the standard castors and can be available upon request.

If this is something that you require for the ESD chairs in your environment, contact our team today. We can build these castors into your quote, whilst providing reassurance for the ESD chairs’ suitability and flexibility for all assembly line and factory settings.

Do I need an ESD bench for my workspace?

An ESD bench will be ideal in areas containing devices that are sensitive to ESD. This is frequently the case in electronic assembly lines and other processes involving electrical components. ESD can damage devices beyond repair, so it is important that you have the correct equipment to minimise this risk. An ESD workbench is one of the best ways to ensure that the operator remains grounded, and thus eliminating the ESD.

What types of ESD workbenches are there to choose from?

There are four main types of ESD workbench that you can purchase from us. These are the Classic ESD Workbench, Cantilever Bench, Upright Frame, Corner ESD Table or a Packing Table. To learn more about these visit our dedicated ESD workbench page here.

What considerations should be made when purchasing ESD furniture?

When equipping your workstation with ESD furniture, there are several key points you must consider.

Workbench – Consider the type of bench that suits your space and requirements the most. Does it need to be adjustable to the height of multiple operators, or do you need to move the bench to different locations on a frequent basis? Make sure you consider all possible future requirements and priorities to ensure you get the best value for money.

Accessories – There are an abundance of options when it comes to kitting out your workstation. From lights, to power and even storage, there is an accessory available on our website that can further streamline your work processes in an EPA environment.

Manufacturing

How does LEV testing work?

LEV ( Local Exhaust Ventilation) testing is the process of examining the LEV system to ensure proper removal of hazardous substances ( dust, fumes and vapours) from the air. It involves visual inspection, technical checks and performance checks. This is done to ensure that the systems are working properly to protect workers health and meet legal safety standards

Is COSHH testing same as LEV testing ?

No, COSHH testing and LEV testing aren’t the same thing, but they are closely related. COSHH( Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) is about the legal obligation to evaluate and manage exposure to harmful substances. On the other hand, LEV testing is a specific check under COSHH. It looks at whether extraction systems, like LEV units, are managing airborne risks well.

How do ultrasonic cleaners work?

Ultrasonic cleaning systems rely upon sound waves to generate bubbles that implode upon impact with the items that are inside the tank. This implosion creates energy that performs a scrubbing like action onto the surface of the component that is submerged. Millions of these bubbles will be generated giving you a clean that is not only extensive, but also highly delicate. For a more in depth explanation, read our blog here!

How often should I change the cleaning fluid in an ultrasonic cleaning bath?

There is no set time for how many washes should pass before the fluid in your cleaner is changed. However, it will become quickly apparent, as you will visibly be able to see the fluid become too contaminated. There are two warning signs you should look out for, these include:

  • When the cleaning process begins to show signs of becoming less effective.
  • The water becomes contaminated so that you can no longer see the bottom of the tank.
Why use a Dr Storage Dry Cabinet over Moisture Barrier Bags?

There are three main reasons why you should opt for a dry cabinet from Dr Storage, over any kind of moisture barrier bag. These are:

Cost Effective – With a dry cabinet you only need to make one purchase. You can cut out the running costs for purchases of the moisture barrier bags and desiccant.

Tightly Secured – Unlike moisture barrier bags, there are no risks of punctures. The cabinets are tightly sealed and calibrated to determine the correct amount of desiccant.

Reduced Labour – The task of placing individual items into the moisture barrier bags will no longer be needed. Simply place the items on the trays and reels, before securing them inside the cabinet.

How long do the filters last in the AirBench Downdraught benches?

For general use in most applications the filters should last between 6 -12 months. If the bench is being used heavy duty for long periods of time the filters may need to be changed more frequently. It must also be noted that if you are using disposable media pads, ensure you change this monthly.

If you are undertaking higher volumes of work you should consider the AirBench RP with self cleaning filters.

For any more information on the right downdraught bench for your required application, do not hesitate to get in touch with us today.
